Is Summer Over Yet?

HOME:

Is summer over yet? Not necessarily the warm weather, but the kids going back to school! The boys argue over EVERY little thing. They're "bored" all the time and I have to work, so I can't take them out to do things every day like other SAHM's. I'm a WAHM! I've got deadlines to meet and things to do! In July I signed up them for many field trips through the base youth center which they have loved and so have I. It gives them something to do without being bored and it gives me a day of peace here and there :) Unfortunately, the base schools start back up in mid August, so there are only 2 trips they can go on this month. Luckily, there are some school orientations for the kids to look forward to. They say they "don't know" if they're excited or not, but since it's not a no, I take it as a yes, but they just don't want to SAY they're excited about it! LOL

MILITARY:
DH is counting down the days until he gives up the shirt phone. The real shirt is back in town and on leave and he has only this upcoming week and the next weekend and then the phone is back in her hands. He still has to stay in the shirt office for a couple more weeks to help get some files in order and things like that and then he'll head to his new shop. The chief told him jokingly he was "fired" from his old shop and DH asked him where he was going. The chief told him he was being sent to another, bigger shop! DH was very excited to get in there and get his hands on that shop. However, he has told them as soon as he's done in the shirt office, he plans on taking a week or two of leave first.

WORK:
I'm staying on top of things. Unfortunately my accounting came due at the end of July and I worked over a week of late nights trying to get everything entered. (This was all due to the stupid idea of changing accounting programs and then when entering information, finding out it didn't have an inventory feature I needed. Then the show started and I was so busy for more than a month afterwards that I was stuck doing it all at the end!) Luckily, I was still able to stay on top of orders as well and do up some new colors! I can't wait to release those! Should be in September some time. August is here and now I'm back on Delights. I still have two more colors i want to try and dye up this time around and the rest of the ideas I'll save for next time I get to experimenting.

STITCHING:
I did finish up the wedding sampler for my cousin's wedding in September. Even though I haven't felt well the last couple of days, I stayed up late Friday night to bead the sampler so I could get it in Hobby Lobby's weekly framing sale. Otherwise, I'd have to wait until August 11th and with the 2 week waiting period, it'd cut it close for shipping it in time! However, I really was feeling poorly, so I got up, took a shower, got dressed, and headed to Hobby Lobby without snapping a picture of it. I'll get one when it comes back.

Now I'm back working on Skeleton Crew for the Halloween SAL!
