Yikes, it's been awhile since I posted. Well, my excuse is that February was horrendously busy at work (which is a fantastic thing)!
So, back in January I picked up this wedding sampler to do for my cousin's wedding in May. I had seen someone complete this design on the 123 Stitch board and it was very contemporary and I loved it. My cousin's not a flowery and frou frou type of person (and neither am I). Anyway, here it is as of January 28th:![]()
Then here it is a week later on February 6th:![]()
Then I hit a huge stitching slump for several weeks. I'd stitch a line or two and then quit. Just no interest. I think alot of it had to do with the fact that I had 3 30+ orders come in and I was just swamped at work. By the time I was done for the day, I didn't want to touch any fabric!
THEN, one day I got going on it and was whipping that frame along the outside right along when I noticed....I'm ONE STITCH OFF somewhere! OMG, I was so mad! And the bad thing was, I couldn't find where that one stitch was. Of course every time I looked at it I was about ready for bed and being tired isn't the best time to look for a mistake. So I let it sit for a long time and glared at it every time I walked by it.
This past Monday, I picked it up bright and early and within 10 minutes found the place where I was off. I had to frog ALOT, but once I did that, I was able to stitch back to where I left off. Then on Wednesday I stitched alot more...and RAN OUT OF THREAD!! I cursed myself for getting a kit. I've heard others who've not had enough thread and I know part of the reason was because when I frogged, I tore some of the threads up. (Am I a heavy handed frogger?) Anyway, I emailed the company (Dimensions) Wednesday morning and within an hour I had an email back saying they'd be happy to send me enough thread to complete the project. What great customer service!!
So this is the pic I snapped Wednesday morning:![]()
Since I took this pic, I've outlined the letters in LOVE and have started backstitching the sparkly silver/gray threads inside the frame. I hope I'll get the new threads next week so I can finish that small 2 inch or so section on the right hand side of "frame" part of the piece.
I hope to show a finished pic soon!
